When Lem Siddons, a saxophonist in a jazz band, arrives in the small town of Hickory he quickly meets and falls in love with Vida Downey, a beautiful bank clerk. Deciding to leave the band and stay in town to win the heart of Vida, he finds that the road to true love is often rocky.
